Redirects & 404s
Manage moved URLs and review addresses visitors cannot find.
Redirects keep old public addresses useful after content moves. The 404 log shows routes visitors requested which did not resolve.
Create redirects for real moves
When a live Page, Post or archive moves to a new URL, redirect the old address to the closest useful replacement.
Review 404s
Repeated not-found routes can reveal old links, typing mistakes or missing migration rules. Ignore obvious noise rather than creating redirects for every automated request.
Avoid chains
Point an old URL directly to the current destination instead of redirecting through several historical addresses.
