Resource Packs

Import, review, deploy and update portable site compositions.

A Resource Pack carries a reusable site design and its supporting Resources. It is not a backup and it cannot change the administrative setup of Micro CMS.

What a pack can contain

Design values, Headers, Footers, Templates, Navigation, Components, Patterns, Queries, Forms, Comment layouts, selected Content, Media and route rules can travel in a pack.

What a pack cannot contain

A Resource Pack cannot change users, roles, security or privacy settings, update sources, backup settings, Background Jobs, passwords, secret keys or server paths.

Install a pack

  1. Open Design → Resource Packs.
  2. Upload the ZIP or choose a bundled pack.
  3. Review the package and run the preflight check.
  4. Review any Resources that have been edited locally before replacing them.
  5. Apply the prepared deployment.
  6. Open the public site and check the key routes.

Updating a pack

A newer version is added to the Pack Library and reviewed before it is applied. If a Resource has been edited locally, Micro CMS asks what to keep rather than overwriting it silently.

Exporting a Site Pack

Export Site Pack creates a portable site design and Resource set. It leaves out users, server settings, secrets, jobs and other administrative data. Use a Full Site Snapshot when you need complete restoration data.
