WordPress migration troubleshooting

Resolve common WordPress connection, analysis, Media and import problems.

Start with the error shown by WordPress Importer or Migration Bridge, then check the smallest part of the connection that can explain it.

Cannot connect

Confirm the source uses HTTPS, the WordPress site URL is the final canonical address, Migration Bridge is active and the token has not expired or been revoked.

Protected content is missing

Password-protected body content is not included unless you explicitly enable that access when creating the Migration Bridge token. Generate a replacement token only when that content genuinely needs to migrate.

Media stalls or fails

Check that the current Migration Bridge and WordPress Importer releases are compatible, the source Media file still exists and the source host or proxy is not blocking the transfer. Keep Micro CMS Background Jobs running.

Destination address already used

Open the existing Micro CMS content using that address and decide which item should own it. Change or remove the conflict deliberately, then analyse again.

Imported formatting needs review

Use the draft result and Preview to correct presentation in Micro CMS. Migration aims to preserve useful content and structure, not to reproduce every WordPress theme or builder effect.

Token expired mid-migration

Generate a new token in WordPress, update the connection and follow the importer’s re-analysis/resume guidance.
