Prepare WordPress

Prepare the source WordPress site before starting a connected migration.

A cleaner source makes the migration easier to review and reduces avoidable failures.

Back up WordPress

Take a complete WordPress backup using your normal hosting or backup process. Do not begin a broad content conversion or migration without a way to restore the source.

Update and check the site

Confirm the source site is working over HTTPS, WordPress Admin is reachable and important public Pages and Posts render normally. Resolve plugin or database errors before blaming the migration tools.

Decide what should move

List the content types you actually want in Micro CMS. Old theme utility Pages, application shells, duplicate test content and retired landing pages often do not belong in the new site.

Review protected content

Password-protected Posts and Pages need an explicit Migration Bridge choice if their body content is to be included. Leave that access disabled when protected content should remain behind.
