Micro CMS Migration Bridge

Install the temporary WordPress plugin, create a migration token and remove it after cutover.

Micro CMS Migration Bridge is a temporary WordPress plugin used when WordPress Importer needs to read an existing WordPress site during migration.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.0 or later.
  • PHP 7.4 or later.
  • HTTPS on the source site for normal connected migration.
  • A WordPress administrator account that can install plugins and use Tools.

Install the plugin

  1. In WordPress Admin, open Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Choose Upload Plugin and select the Migration Bridge ZIP.
  3. Install and activate it.
  4. Open Tools → Micro CMS Bridge.

Create a migration token

  1. Choose how long the token should remain valid. The normal default is 24 hours and the available maximum is 7 days.
  2. Leave the standard migration access selected unless you have a reason to limit it further.
  3. Enable protected-content access only when password-protected body content really needs to migrate.
  4. Choose Generate / rotate migration token.
  5. Copy the token immediately. It is shown once.

Connect from Micro CMS

Open WordPress Importer in Micro CMS. Enter the normal public WordPress site URL and the token you just copied. Avoid alternate or redirected versions of the source address; use the canonical WordPress site address.

Rotate or revoke

Generating another token replaces the current one and starts a new lifetime. Choose Revoke token when you no longer want the existing connection to work.
