Run and review the import

Run a reviewed WordPress migration stage and check the destination before continuing.

Only start the import after you have reviewed what is included and resolved any blocking warnings.

Before committing

  • Create or confirm a recent destination backup.
  • Make sure Background Jobs are working.
  • Check that the selected destination routes are intentional.
  • Keep the source WordPress site online during the import.

Run the stage

Commit the reviewed migration stage. You can leave the browser after normal Background Jobs are configured; return to the migration screen to review progress and any items that need attention.

Review the result

Open a selection of migrated Pages and Posts in Admin and on the public site. Check images, embeds, headings, tables, Navigation and taxonomy. Use draft state to correct presentation before publishing.

Retry after fixing the cause

If an item fails, read the reported reason first. Fix the source connection, Media access, destination route or content issue, then retry or re-analyse as the screen instructs. Repeatedly retrying an unchanged failure usually wastes time.

Continue with another stage

When the first group is correct, analyse the source again if you want to migrate another group. This is useful for large sites or when you want to move editorial content before less important archives.
