Route Defaults
Set the normal public URL patterns used by content types.
Route Defaults decide the normal URL shape generated for content. They are site settings, not individual redirects.
Use stable patterns
Choose route patterns early and keep them stable. Changing the default later can move many public URLs at once.
Individual custom routes
A Page or Post can still use a custom route when it needs an address outside the normal pattern.
After a change
Check Redirects & 404s after moving live routes so visitors and search engines are not left on dead addresses.
